Plugin privacy
Updated 24 October 2026. Optional features apply only when offered and enabled.
Qook is operated by Akshay Dewalwar. This policy covers the separate ChatGPT plugin.
Meal planning
The plugin processes the preferences, ingredient descriptions and structured plans sent in its tool calls. These can include dietary choices, allergies, goals and free-text instructions. It does not receive your full ChatGPT history or access your email inbox. Meal tools do not intentionally retain recipes or log request bodies.
Optional Qook account connection
When account linking is enabled, you may connect your own Qook account and consent to reading and saving kitchen preferences. A narrow account connection identifies you and limits which profile can be accessed. The plugin reads only the food-planning fields it needs from profiles you own. Explicit saves update supported food preferences in your selected Qook profile, which the website and Android app read on their next load. Household settings apply across your profiles. ChatGPT-specific planning settings are stored separately. A first save without an existing profile creates a Qook profile.
Saved preferences remain until changed, removed or the account is deleted. Removing ChatGPT settings deletes only those additional planner settings; it does not undo shared profile changes or delete your Qook profile. Manage shared preferences on Qook.in. Disconnecting or revoking access prevents future use of the connection; it does not erase information already shared in a ChatGPT conversation. Authentication grants and token hashes are stored to enforce expiration and revocation. The plugin never shares your Supabase session token with ChatGPT.
Optional email
A separate explicit action and email permission can return the verified email of your linked Qook account. The plugin cannot silently retrieve your ChatGPT email. Account connection is not newsletter or marketing consent.
Anonymous operational statistics
When deployment metrics are enabled, Qook automatically records coarse counts for guest meal-planning tools: the tool used, success or failure, UTC day, release version and a response-time bucket. These events contain no user or visitor identifiers, raw or hashed subjects, sessions, profile IDs, emails, meal content, dietary preferences or conversation details. Account and email tools are excluded. These statistics count tool calls; they cannot identify unique people, installs or repeat visitors. Older usage-sharing preference fields are retained for compatibility and do not enable personal tracking.
These limited events are written to the hosting provider's operational logs and follow that deployment's retention and access settings. Aggregate reports contain counts only. The plugin does not add advertising pixels, third-party analytics scripts or automatic marketing enrollment.
Meal pictures
Meal photos and image-request controls are currently off. Supplied meal-image URLs are not displayed or fetched. Recipe videos and downloadable meal, day and week menu cards remain available.
Host and temporary state
Vercel may retain technical request information under its own policies. ChatGPT handles conversations and tool results under your OpenAI settings. Checklist state may be held temporarily by the widget or host and is not an account profile. Copy, share and calendar export occur when you choose them. Uploaded fridge photos are handled by ChatGPT; Qook receives only ingredient descriptions passed to tools.
